Coming up with Fresh ideas for kids at your reception can be a bit of a challenge.

I recently saw a great idea for Tykesgiving menus and thought it might be fun to put a wedding spin on this for the little ones attending your reception.

Create a special coloring book style menu card with blank illustrations of each of the foods you’re serving that night. Label each illustrated food, and place a mini box of crayons out for the kiddos to color in the vegetables, starches and proteins. For the proteins you could have a cow or chicken or a fish. Be sure to have enough of a border so that the crayon doesn’t get on the linen. For creative menu ideas across the board contact www.homeinthehangar.com

If you have enough space to house an extra eight foot table, it’s fun to have a giant mural/banner for everyone to help color in throughout the night. You’ll find as many adults as kids coloring all night long. For your custom mural contact www.monstermural.com

For kids who are a bit older, decorate some small treat bags, then fill them with assorted raw pastas that can be strung into necklaces and bracelets. You can use rigatoni, penne, elbow and others. Pre-cut the elastic string for the bracelets and necklaces. Don’t forget to leave enough string for them to tie a knot!
